About Kathryn

Kathryn is a singer, songwriter, and peripatetic music teacher currently based in St Nicholas, Wales.

Previously lived in Bournemouth, Dorset, before moving to Cardiff, Wales. She has gained extensive experience in writing original songs, performing, and travelling to music venues, as well as teaching instrumental lessons, including piano, acoustic guitar, and singing, to all ages from 5 and above.

Music has always been important part of her life. At the age of 18, she won "Best Original Music" at a YRock music contest based in Hong Kong. 

After graduating from university in 2009, she self-promoted and performed in local venues and collaborated with other musicians for further music exposure. While performing, she began writing her first 5-track EP called Faith, which was released in September 2011. 

Following the release of the 5-track EP she was nominated for One Great Song and Favourite Album/EP in the Dorset Music Awards. She has also been involved in various music competitions, including Bournemouth Unplugged 2012. 

Since 2017, she decided to share her experiences and music knowledge by being a peripatetic music teacher. Not only teaching private lessons but also working with different charities, Absolute Music Trust and AIM Community in Bournemouth.

Now she continues to write original songs and has the intention to perform in Cardiff. She has been accepted to the University of South Wales to further her education by studying a Master's in Songwriting and Production.
